Cash for Clunkers (CARS) Extended $2 Billion
Friday, August 7th, 2009The Cash for Clunkers program was extended by President Obama today to the tune an additional $2 billion on top of the initial $1 billion that is almost used up. “Now, more American consumers will have the chance to purchase newer, more fuel efficient cars and the American economy will continue to get a much-needed boost,” President Obama expressed.
If you’re looking to take advantage of the program, make sure to read the details of the Cash for Clunkers program and understand how it works. As you already know, it offers consumers rebates up to $4,500 for their clunkers at trade-in to be used for purchase or lease of a new more fuel efficient new car but there are requirements you might want to better understand before heading out to the dealership.
