With the cost of gasoline a constantly-fluctuating concern, consumers are right to pay attention to the best small mpg SUVs. Although there are 30 or so compact SUVs in the market, only a few rate in the 22 to 45 miles per gallon (mpg) fuel economy range. Subtract hybrids from the equation, and that leaves even fewer.
