With incentive spending down by automakers and consumer demand up as the economy improves, it may be slim pickings for the best new car lease deals and incentives May 2011. Still, there are a few, but remember that leasing is best for those who prefer to have a new car every couple of years and can live within the mileage caps.
U.S. News and World Report, in its “Best May 2011 Lease Deals,” tallies up some of the most attractive lease offerings on new cars. We’ve summarized them here briefly. Note that all these lease offers expire May 31, 2011.

Fuel economy from the 170-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and continuously variable transmission is EPA-estimated at 22 mpg city/26 mpg highway. Starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the 2011 Rogue S AWD is $22,460. Add the required splash guards ($130) and mats ($190) and it’s $22,780, but destination and handling charges, tax, title, license and other options are not included.

- 2011 Infiniti G – Getting rave reviews for its sporty performance, the 2011 Infiniti G is also proving a good deal for leasing this May. Infiniti is offering a 39-month
lease at $379 per month with $2,499 due at signing on the 2011sedan Journey RWD (rear-wheel drive) with Premium Package. Power comes from the 328-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine mated to seven-speed automatic transmission with adaptive shift control and drive sport mode. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 19 mpg city/27 mpg highway. Starting price is $35,800. Note that mileage is limited to 10,000 miles per year, with $.025 per mile for mileage that exceeds the cap.
- 2011 BMW 3-Series – Consumers who just crave “The Ultimate Driving Machine” may be in luck if they qualify for the German automaker’s attractive lease offer on
the 2011 BMW 3-Series. For just $389 per month (for 39 months) and $3,614 due at signing, the BMW 328i xDrive sedans can be driven off the lot. Powered by a 230-horsepower 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine paired with six-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with paddle shifters and featuring BMW xDrive, intelligent all-wheel drive system, the 2011 BMW 328i xDrive achieves an EPA-estimated 26 mpg highway fuel economy.
- 2011 – Available in the Southwest, the all-new front-wheel drive 2011 Ford Explorer XLT crossover SUV is offered for a 24-month lease at $389 per month, with $3,668 due at signing. Under the hood is the 290-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 255 pound-feet of torque. Properly equipped, the Explorer XLT can tow up to 5,000 pounds. Power to the wheels is via six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 17 mpg city/25 mpg highway. Starting MSRP for the 2011 Ford Explorer XLT is $31,350.
