The end of 2013 is fast-approaching and going away with it may be the best year-end car deals in a long time. According to a report in Ward’s, in November, dealer lot inventories of new cars and trucks were at their highest level in eight years. Analysts also see pent-up demand in December and continuing into 2014 as the average vehicle age in the U.S. is 11 years.
Marketing campaigns among the car companies ratchets into high gear this month, with glitzy TV ads touting year-end deals. These include Toyota’s “Toyotathon,” the Lexus “December to Remember,” Mercedes-Benz “Winter Event,” the BMW “Happier New Year Event,” Cadillac’s “Season’s Best Event,” Ford’s “Dream Big Sales Event,” “Happy Honda Days,” “Hyundai Holidays,” and Nissan’s “Season to Choose,” among others.
