Reader Question: I have a 2010 Mercury-Sable and there is a button with a phone symbol in the dash board. I was wondering is it possble to have this connect for a hand free phone usages. Is there a monthly fee for the usages.
After contacting a Sync agent, we’ve learned that the best way to answer that question iswith the vehicle identification number. But, basically, if your vehicle has a phone buttonon the steering wheel and the radio, it is equipped with SYNC and can connect bluetoothdevices for hands-free calling.
To enable Bluetooth connectivity, press the phone button and follow the instructions given. If you have issues with pairing the phone, contact Sync by phone at 800-392-3673, Mondaythrough Saturday from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Remember to call from a phone other than theone you are pairing to Sync and they will walk you through the pairing process.
If your 2010 Mercury Sable does not have the button on the steering wheel, the Syncservice is not available to the vehicle. You would need to purchase an aftermarketsystem. The Sync agent mentioned Mobile Ease as one example of such a system. Go towww.fordaccessories.com and query for an aftermarket kit for your vehicle. Pricing foraftermarket kits will vary.
