Overview (Final Score: A-)
An all-newwas introduced in 2017 with some pretty major changes to the best-selling compact crossover. The 2018 model carries those on and does very well with its turbocharged engine, excellent interior ergonomics and carefully designed safety systems. Some might be surprised at how good the optional all-wheel drive systems are at keeping the CR-V out of trouble.
The 2018 Honda CR-V has a lot in common with the equally popular, having a similar dashboard, instrument cluster, driver controls and updated infotainment. There’s a reason the new CR-V continues to win awards and remains a best-seller in the segment.
Highlights of this five-passenger, compact crossover include improved ground clearance, more interior space for passengers, stellar cargo space and four trim levels choices, in either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
What We Love About the 2018 Honda CR-V:
- Great turbocharged engine in all trims except the base
- Excellent interior design and ergonomics
- Well-done daily, real-world fuel economy metrics
What We Don’t Love About the 2018 Honda CR-V:
- Exterior looks are barely average for the segment
- Lackluster infotainment
- Could be tough to find a dealer deal on the model
