There could be good news down the road for Tesla fans. In an interview with CNN Money, Tesla CEO Elon Musk reveals a “cheaper” Tesla is in the cards. Calling it the car Tesla “has always wanted to make,” Musk says it will cost around $35,000 and you can look for it in about three years.

Up next for Tesla is an SUV set to go on sale in late 2014. It will cost $70,000-$90,000. Tesla is also planning a truck in about five years. The full-size pick-up truck will be designed to compete with the Ford F-150. Musk explains, “If you’re trying to replace the most gasoline miles driven, you have to look at what people are buying.”

Just this week Tesla announced it sold 6,900 Model S sedans in the Q4, which is 25% higher than Q3.
