Drivers who want to call attention to their ride, make a statement or who just love red have several choices among 2017 cars. Most are sports cars, sporty sedans or convertibles.

Personally, I’ve never owned a red car. (It’s not my color.) But I did drive a company car for a few months with a two-tone red and white paint scheme. My neighbors referred to it as a pizza wagon. I couldn’t wait to get rid of it.

There was also a magenta metallic full-size 4×4 that I contemplated purchasing after driving it as a company vehicle for the required period. I’m glad I didn’t, as my fondness for the color quickly waned.

Car color preference is purely subjective, but red does admirably lend itself to speed and sportiness more than hauling groceries and construction supplies.

Here’s my list of the nine hottest 2017 cars in red.
